Since 1999, Absolute Steel has been manufacturing and selling a wide range of steel frame buildings, including barndominiums. The building kit delivered to the job site, for DIY construction, is the core of our business, and is how 95% of our customers order their buildings.
With a DIY kit, you basically act as an owner/builder or your own general contractor. You handle the subcontractors, making sure they do their respective trade. Of course, any of those tasks you do yourself saves you even more. Most all past customers who have gone the DIY route are into their finished barndominium for a lot less than a custom project.
We provide the steel frame with door and window frame outs, metal panels, and hardware right to your job site.
Whether you use a contractor to install your building kit or not, the DIY or owner/builder kit is by far the most cost effective way to finish your barndominium.

We provide you with the steel frame, paneling, and all door and window buildouts. We manufacture your your kit, and ship it directly to your job site. It arrives on a truck in neatly packaged bundles with clear instructions for assembly.
Design the Floor Plan Your Way
You are not forced to choose from “cookie cutter” barndominium plans. You build your floor plan the way you want it. Your shell will be a sturdy steel frame, but you can use wood studs on the interior if you prefer, or continue the framing with steel.
Easy Sourced Finishes and Contractors
You are not stuck with random contractors. You can source materials from your local supply store and choose who YOU want to finish your interior. Sub all of it out, go DIY, or a little of both.
