We are often asked for a standard square foot price, and we don’t really have an answer for that. You may have reached out to us before and we responded back with a slew of questions, request for dimensions, layout sketches – basically as much detail as you can provide. The reason being is that we don’t have a standard square foot price because there are so many variables in each build, such as:
- * Will there be porch (or wrap-arounds)?
- * Dormers?
- * What the wall height will be?
- * Vaulted ceiling scissor-trusses, gable or eave overhang, etc.?
The list is practically endless as far as custom modifications go. That’s why we put this page together, so you can see the price each of these models sold for. Bear in mind these are shell kit prices only – prices do not include interior buildouts, utility hookups, or land.
The Absolute Steel process is simple, we manufacture the shell kit per your design/layout dimensions. You would then take that building floor plan and manipulate the interiors any way you want. The floor plan used in these shell kits is included so you can either use it or modify to your needs & wants.
The Farmersville

For this build, the customer went with a relatively simple yet timelessly appealing design. They were able to utilize a 1,890 square foot living area with this barndominium shell (not including wrap-around porch) – the price averages to $13.92 per square foot.
The Celeste

SOLD IN JUNE 2019.
For this build, the customer combined their living quarters to an attached, off-set ridge garage. They were able to utilize a 1,782 square foot living quarters and a 713 square foot garage, for a total area square footage of 2,495 (not accounting for the additional square footage the lean-to’s add) – the price averages to $13.53 per square foot.

This building is a very sleek design, complete with a full wrap-around porch on the main building, extended gables, and a modern-looking off-set & extended/eave overhang (with gable-faces enclosed) to work on the RV outside when the weather’s nice. With a main living area of 2,150 SF and an attached garage of 1,100 SF, the square foot price averaged out to $16.40 per square foot.

SOLD IN SEPTEMBER 2019.
What makes this barndominium special is that the roof follows a 6:12 pitch, allowing for interior scissor-trusses to give this home a ton of headroom to create a vaulted ceiling. Also, the gable is extended on one end along with a lean-to porch on the lawn side. They chose to leave their exterior gable truss exposed for future wood-wrapping veneer purposes. For a total living area square footage of 2,150 SF, the square foot price on this one averaged to $17.61 per square foot.
